Solitude
Date: April 4, 2023
To desire solely the Cross is to live cloistered in Mary’s Heart, sharing in her solitude as one with Jesus’ solitude in the Eucharist.
At Gethsemane, Jesus suffered the solitude of not having His companions accompany Him in His agony of love. He remained alone, in total solitude, to suffer the most excruciating agony of Heart and Body. Jesus explained: “My agony was the consuming fire of Divine Love and the groans of excruciating sorrows.”
To live as one with Christ, desiring solely the Cross, is to choose to remain in the solitude of the Two Hearts as we continue living the groans of sorrow alone without an earthly companion to share in this intimate union of love and pain. Yet, we continue to pour out our lives as a TOTAL GIFT of self and remain in the interior of our hearts in the groans of the Hearts of Jesus and Mary.
I realized the deep emotion I felt last night: betrayal. I have been left alone. Jesus received the kiss of betrayal and continued to pour out Himself in love for Judas and every person of all times who has betrayed Him. I must do the same. I must continue to pour myself in love and interiorly remain in the groans of this excruciating sorrow with Jesus and Mary.
